| Australian
White Cypress is widely used in house construction; floor,
wall and roof framing, tongue and grooved flooring, interior
panelling, weatherboard cladding, decking and fencing.
It has proven itself in vineyard posts and even diversifies
to bridge construction. |

WHY BUILD WITH AUSTRALIAN WHITE CYPRESS?
Legislation
and consumer resistance to the use of toxic chemicals
has seen a steep decline in this method of protection
from termites. Australian Cypress, being one of the few
timbers that is naturally resistant to termite attack,
means that it does not need to be treated with toxic chemicals.
Australian
Cypress has one of the lowest tangential shrinkage rates
of a mere 2.5% ensuring that the flooring system, including
the bearers and joists, are extremely stable.
Australian
Cypress flooring offers a characteristic like no other
timber - golden brown colors with highlights from pale
creams to yellow and features decorative tight knots.

AUSTRALIAN
WHITE CYPRESS VINEYARD POSTS
The demand for Australian Cypress posts for vine trellises is
steadily increasing as vineyards start to recognise the outstanding
properties of this unique timber. In fact, it has performed well
as vineyard posts in the Riverina and South Australia since the
late 1800s.
Seasoned Australian Cypress has similar, if not higher, strength
properties than the more commonly used Radiata Pine (see Table below).
As it does not require any preservative treatment, this also results
in fewer problems with toxic or carcinogenic compounds being released
when working the posts, eg.cutting, boring of holes for wire etc.
Its naturally straight grain easily provides posts of suitable straightness.
Australian White Cypress posts are also free of corrosive salts
and hence do not lessen the expected life of fence wire, nails or
stays.
